Renee Powser, a Judicial Admin Tech III, retired from Cobb County Juvenile Court after 10 years of service. The retirement celebration was held on December 3, 2010.

Anderson “Andy” Cook, Automotive Technician II, retired from Fleet Management after 21 years of service. A retirement celebration was held at Fleet Management on Friday, November 19th 2010.

Sandra Chastain will retire with 22 years of service, retirement party at Central Library 2:00 - 4:00pm on July 15, 2010.
Library System
Mary Holt will retire from the Library System on Wednesday, June 30 after 26 years with Cobb County Government. Mrs. Holt began her career with the Library system as a Library Technical Assistant and while continuing to work full time went back to school to receive a Masters in Library Science in December of 2003 and was promoted to a Librarian position shortly thereafter.
Water System
Timmy S. Vaughn will retire from the Water System on Wednesday, June 30. Timmy has almost 31 years with Cobb County Government. Mr. Vaughn began his career with the Water System in August 1979 as a Crew Worker and continued to move up the ladder to become the Division Manager of the System Maintenance Division.
Sammye Baggott who will retire from the Water System on Friday, June 25, 2010. Sammye has worked nearly 22 years as the Administrative Specialist for the Stormwater Management Division.

Suzanne Baker who will be retiring from Solicitor General Barry Morgan’s office after 31 years.
Ann Brown who will be retiring from Solicitor General Barry Morgan’s office after 29 years of service. A reception will be held for Ann on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 2 – 4 pm.
Joan Baker, who will retire on April 30th after 11-1/2 years of service. Joan began her Cobb County career with Senior Services. In 1999, she was promoted to a Specialist in the Human Resources Department. In May of 2004, Joan was promoted to her current position of Government Services Administrator in the Support Services Agency.

Brenda Owenby – 51 years in Court Division. Ms. Brenda started working on June 1, 1959 and will retire on April 30, 2010. She has been a court room clerk for past several years and the past 10 years she has clerked for the Senior Judges. Brenda has a close working relationship with Judge Watson White. She is a true lady and had taught and made many friends in the legal community. Just about every attorney that is practicing law today has been through or worked with Brenda. She is one of a kind. We wish her a happy retirement and long life with her husband Harold.

Senior Services
John Green, Division Manager, will retire from Senior Services on April 30th, after 24 years of service. John has also worked from Arts and Cultural Affairs, Government Service Centers and Mail Services.
Joan Kopp, Program Coordinator is retiring from Senior Services on April 30th with 16 years service, she has also worked in Georgia Room and East Cobb Government Service Center.
Kathleen James, Center Aide, with 25 years of service will retire on April 30th.
Quentyna Tyna Knight, R.N. will retire on April 30th, after 19 years as Nurse Coordinator of Senior Day Center.
Tia Juana T Robinson, Dispatcher, will retire from Senior Services on April 30th after 12 years.
Retirements from Community Development A cake and punch reception will be held on April 28th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the new home of Community Development: 1150 Powder Springs Road in Powder Springs Station. Lonnie Clark came to the county in 1985 in what was previously known as the Building Inspections Department. She has almost 25 years with this department, and will be retiring on April 23rd.
Ed Denalsky will be retiring on April 30th having served the county for almost 25 years. He started his career in 1985 as a Commercial Building Inspector, and later transferred to Structural Plan Review.
Dennis Jones started in the Property Management Department in 1996. After working there for 5 years, he transferred to Community Development as a Mechanical Inspector. Dennis will be retiring on April 30th, after having served the county for 14 years
Rick King will be retiring on April 30th, after having spent 25 years with Community Development. He started his career as a Plumbing Inspector in 1985; transferred to Plan Review around 1988 and will retire from that division as the Supervisor of Structural Plan Review.
Donald Lingerfelt will be retiring on April 30th after serving 24 years. He was hired as an Electrical Inspector, and was promoted to the Senior Construction Inspector in that division in 2002.
Ricky Price started his career with the county in the Property Management Department in 1988, transferred to Community Development in 1995, and will be retiring on April 30th with 22 years of service.
Dale Tatum will be retiring on April 30th as the Code Enforcement Division Manager after serving the County and its citizens for 27 years.
Mark Danneman will be retiring on April 30th as the Zoning Division Manager. Mark has 35 years of service with Cobb County.
Curtis McWaters is retiring after 33 years of valued service to Cobb County Water System.
Manuel T. Matthews who will retire from the Water System on Friday, April 30. Manuel has over 27 years with Cobb County all with the Cobb County Water System.
Dianna Bartley of Animal Control is retiring after 26+ years of service.
Sergeant Robert Tidwell for his 34 years of faithful service to the Cobb County Police Department and the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department.

Shirley Morrison, who will retire on April 30 after having served the County Attorney’s Office for sixteen long and productive years.
Finance Department
Brad Bowers will be retiring, with 27 years of service, from the Finance Department on April 30, 2010. Brad worked in several departments before becoming Finance Director in 2000.
Pam Jones who will retire from the Finance Department on April 30, 2010. Pam has worked for the Finance Department and Solid Waste in her 21 year tenure.
Jennifer Wilson, Accounts Payable Accounting Manager, who will retire from the Finance Department on April 30, 2010. Jennifer has 28 years of dedicated service to the county, most of that with the Finance Department.
Karen Thorpe, Administrative Coordinator, who will retire from the Finance Department after 21 years on April 30, 2010. Karen worked for Public Safety, DOT and Finance during those 21 years.
Marcie Turner will be retiring from the Finance Department on April 30, 2010. Marcie has worked in various divisions throughout Finance with 13 of those years as an Accountant III working with Grants.

Theodore "Teddy" Wilkins retired from the Water System on Friday, March 12, 2010. Teddy has been in the Stormwater Management Division of Cobb County Water System for 25 years. Happy Retirement.

Theodore "Teddy" Wilkins who will retire from the Water System on Friday, March 12, 2010. Teddy has been in the Stormwater Management Division of Cobb County Water System for 25 years.

Mike Henderson is retiring from the Water System on Feb. 28, 2010. Mike has worked for the county for 25+ years. He started in the Tax Assessor's Office in 1984 and transferred to the Water System in 2007.
Tom Estrada, Director/Producer of TV23 of the Communications Department. Tom is retiring on January 25, 2010 after 18 years of service.
